If there is one thing that the History Channel has become adept at, it is airing pseudo history during prime-time hours. The Curse of Oak Island looks to continue this tradition as it invites viewers to Oak Island to accompany modern day treasure hunters. Supposedly there is treasure hidden on Oak Island, waiting to be found, and viewers will get to see the efforts of modern gold-grubbers try to find it.
